ASSIGNMENT OF WORK (Cont'd) <br /> <br />Flood Control and Water-Flow RetaI'dation <br /> <br />a. Statement: Investigation of these problema leading to a plan <br />of improvement to be included in a section of the report on the subject, <br />will consist of the following steps for each problem area: <br /> <br />(1) Determine the flood history of stream. <br /> <br />(2) Determine areas damaged by floods of record occurring under <br />present conditions. <br /> <br />(;) Determine for each area the type and amount of flood <br />dBmages which would be caused by floods of record occurring under <br />present conditions. <br /> <br />(4) Determine for each area the probable future a'verage annual <br />damages on the basis of probable future development, property values <br />and population, and on the basis of future flood magnitudes and frequen- <br />cies, giving appropriate consideration to other WOI'ka involved. <br /> <br />(5) Determine for each area the most suitable method of flood <br />control by comparison of the different methods as to phySical adapta- <br />bility, economic feaSibility, and consideration of other related problems <br />of the ccmprehensive planj l.e., drainage, irrigation, etc. Select the <br />project. <br /> <br />(6) Carry through the economic studies as described under <br />Cost-Benefit Studies. <br /> <br />b. Subject Coordinating Agency: Corps of Engineers. <br /> <br />c. Assisting Agencies: Statesj Commerce (WB)j Agriculturej <br />Interior lBR)j and. Federal Security AgeMY (PHS). <br /> <br />d.
