<br />Table 3 shows in kilowatthours the contract obligation of the
<br />District to take and pay for Boulder energy up to May 31, 1944,
<br />the eml of the Boulder operating :,ear 1943-44. It also gives the
<br />quantity of energy used by the District, resold for the District,
<br />and the remainder unused and not resold for which the District has
<br />paid the United States according to agreement.

<br />The rates to be paid for Boulder energy under thi, contract with
<br />the United States are divided into two parts; first, the rate for
<br />falling water which includes the charges for those portions of the
<br />power project at Boulder Dam operated directly by the Govern-
<br />ment, and second, the generating costs which include the charges
<br />for the power production facilities operated by agents of the Gov-
<br />ernment. The rates are fixed at amounts estimated to be sufficient
<br />
