00 i)nn4~1

(.

Memorandum
E.I. Jencsok
November 5, 1992

progressing rapidly. will not be completed until Oecember 31, 1992. Completion of
the CRDSS feasibility study is prerequisite to CROSS receiving legislative
consideration, approval and funding.

Given the above, the Gunnison Basin Sponsor's Committee feels that it has
done as much as it can reasonably do at this time to help assure that the Gunnison
Basin Models will be compatible with CROSS. The Sponsor's Committee feels that
the Gunnison Basin modelling effort is to far advanced to effectively change direction
given the remaining budget, pressing need for the models and the relative uncertainty
of the CROSS funding. development schedule and architecture. The Sponsor's
Committee is of the opinion that the overall Gunnison River Basin Water
Management and Planning Project is a valuable endeavor. even if it is accomplished
totally independent of CROSS, that will provide essential and urgently needed tools
to address complex water right administration issues and to manage and administer
Gunnison Basin water resources with in the future.

I hope this satisfactorily answers the concern which you have raised.

(, ORSjbj
~o

Attachments

i,~ bj80J.memo
(

f 3

,
