Department of the Interior.. . The Department of the Interior member on
the AWRBL4C is responsible'for over"all coordination among Interior
bureeus operating in the three. basins and between Interior bureaus and
the other Federal agencies and the states. The Interior member on the
AWHBIAC should be consulted on all questions relating to:

1. Matters of concern to the AWRBIAC as a whole.

2. Policy problems of concern to more than one bureau
of the Department of the Interior.

3. Conduct of the survey and preparation of the report
for those sections of the comprehensive survey which
are of concern to more than.one Interior bureau.

4. Interior representation at reguler or technical
meetings of the AWRBIAC.

5. Designation of Interior representatives on subcommittees
or work groups of the AWRBIAC.

6.. Designation of Interior representatives at public
hearings.

,. Designation of Interior representatives to make
presentations at regular meetings of the AWRBIAC.'

With regard to problems of concern to only one Int~rior bureau,
it is Interior's policy that. these questions be handled, if possible,
through consultation with the bureau concerned. Furthermore, insofar
as practicable, existing relationships between Interior bureau offices
and state and other Federal agencies are to continue and, where considered
desirable, the bureaus are authorized to establish special procedures
to facilitate coordination on the AWR study with the states and other
Federal agencies.

The Interior member on the .AWRBIAC ie assisted in the discharge
of over-all coordination functions' by the Staff Assistant who is in
ch3rge of the Interior AWR office in Tulsa. Any problems considered
to be the reeponsibility of the Interior member. on the AWRBIAC may be
referred to the Staff Assistant in charge of the Interior AWR office who
~s authorized to handle such problems if, in his Judgment, it is appro-
priate for him to do so or he may refer the problem to the Interior
member.
