The Department of the Interior member on <br />the AWRBL4C is responsible'for over"all coordination among Interior <br />bureeus operating in the three. basins and between Interior bureaus and <br />the other Federal agencies and the states. The Interior member on the <br />AWHBIAC should be consulted on all questions relating to: <br /> <br />1. Matters of concern to the AWRBIAC as a whole. <br /> <br />2. Policy problems of concern to more than one bureau <br />of the Department of the Interior. <br /> <br />3. Conduct of the survey and preparation of the report <br />for those sections of the comprehensive survey which <br />are of concern to more than.one Interior bureau. <br /> <br />4. Interior representation at reguler or technical <br />meetings of the AWRBIAC. <br /> <br />5. Designation of Interior representatives on subcommittees <br />or work groups of the AWRBIAC. <br /> <br />6.. Designation of Interior representatives at public <br />hearings. <br /> <br />,. Designation of Interior representatives to make <br />presentations at regular meetings of the AWRBIAC.' <br /> <br />With regard to problems of concern to only one Int~rior bureau, <br />it is Interior's policy that. these questions be handled, if possible, <br />through consultation with the bureau concerned. Furthermore, insofar <br />as practicable, existing relationships between Interior bureau offices <br />and state and other Federal agencies are to continue and, where considered <br />desirable, the bureaus are authorized to establish special procedures <br />to facilitate coordination on the AWR study with the states and other <br />Federal agencies. <br /> <br />The Interior member on the .AWRBIAC ie assisted in the discharge <br />of over-all coordination functions' by the Staff Assistant who is in <br />ch3rge of the Interior AWR office in Tulsa. Any problems considered <br />to be the reeponsibility of the Interior member. on the AWRBIAC may be <br />referred to the Staff Assistant in charge of the Interior AWR office who <br />~s authorized to handle such problems if, in his Judgment, it is appro- <br />priate for him to do so or he may refer the problem to the Interior <br />member. <br /> <br />V-21 <br />
