'mittee'is'quoted as fol.lows: <br /> <br />. . l./ . ~pose: In. order' to facilitate progress on the investigation <br />authorized..in the Flood Control Act of 1950 with' a view to developing <br />comprehensiVe and integrated p1B.ne of improvement of the Arkansas, }Ihite, <br />and"Red RiVer Basins in the States of Arkansasj Louisiana, Oklahoma, <br />Texas; New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri, there is estab11shed <br />an Arkansas-White-Red Basins Inter-Agency Committee. The purpose of <br />this Committee is to imp1ement the p011cies and purposes of the Federal. <br />Inter-Agency River Basin Committee eetabl1ehed under the Federal. Inter- <br />Agency Agreement dated'December 29, 1943, by providing a.means through <br />Which the field representatives of tJiepe=ticipating Federal agencies <br />may ef:f'ectiveiy interchange information and coordinate their activities <br />among themselves and with those of the statee in.the investigation and <br />preparation' of report covering the water resources and related land <br />resources of the ArkanGas, White, and Red River Basins.' This investi- <br />gation and' report were e.uthorizedin the Flood Control Act of 1950 <br />. apProved May 17; 1950. <br /> <br />2. Organization: The Committee shall consist of one' member each <br />from the Department of the Arm:y, Department of Interior, Department of <br />Agric\\1ture, Department Of COlllIllerce, Federal. Power Commission, and <br />Federal. Security Agency. The member from the Department of the Army <br />will be cb,ab'lDan of the COllllllittee '.' The chairman shall app01nt a secre- <br />tary. Itslian be the duty of the secretary to make thenscessary <br />preparations for meetings oftbe Committee,. incl.uding distribution of <br />the agenda. He ehall keep a record of the proceedings, prepare reporte <br />thereon at the earliest practicable date foll.owing the meetings, and <br />furnish copies of the approved minutes of all meetings to the members. <br />Agenda of regular meetings and the minutes thereof shell be furnished <br />to the Governore of the States of Arkansas, LouiSiana, Oklahoma, Texas, <br />New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri which l.ie wholly or in part <br />wi thin the Arkansas, White, and Red River drainage areas.
