<br />on32~1 ~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONGRESS RESOLUTION - 1967 - 2 <br /> <br />COLORADO RIVER LEGISLATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the continuing problems of full and equitable <br />development of the waters of the Colorado River have been subject <br />to considerable controversy among the Colorado River Basin states <br />for a number of years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the last two years extraordinary progress has <br />been made in searchin9 for equitable solutions to those problems <br />which can be translated into comprehensive Federal legislation; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board at its <br />meeting of January 12, 1967, adopted a policy for the official <br />state agencies incorporating these equitable considerations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Congressman Aspinall has introduced in the first <br />session of the 90th Congress House Bill No, 3300 which is consis- <br />tent with the policy of the Colorado Water Conservation Board and <br />represents a statemanlike approach to the solution of the diffi- <br />cult problems of the Colorado River. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Colorado Water <br />Congress approves and supports the official position of the State <br />of Colorado concerning the development of the Colorado River <br />adopted by the Colorado Water Conservation Board on January 12, <br />1967, and urges the enactment of H. R. 3300, 90th Congress, with- <br />out amendment. <br />
