Construction Status <br /> <br />On January 14, 1977 a repayment contract for the project was executed <br /> <br />between the United States and the Tri-County Water Conservancy District. <br /> <br />For the purpose of establishing the interest rate during construction as <br /> <br />defined in Paragraph 489.1.8 of the Reclamation Instruction construction was <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />initiated July 8, 1977, with the disbursement of $515,000 for land acquisition <br /> <br />and highway relocation planning. <br /> <br />Land acquisition for the project began in 1977 and approximately 3100 <br /> <br />acres have'been purchased to date. This includes about 65 percent of the <br /> <br />'I <br />, <br /> <br />wildlife mitigation lands. Total land acquisition was over 85 percent complete <br /> <br />on October 1, 1979. <br /> <br />, <br />~ ! <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />:; <br /> <br />On September 29, 1977 the United States and the Colorado Department of <br /> <br />Highways signed a contract ~o relocate U.S. Highway 550 around the reservoir. ~' <br /> <br />Actual field construction began in July, 1978 and the work was 85 percent <br /> <br />'.; <br /> <br />'i,' <br /> <br />complete as of October 1, 1979.
