Halepaska, Chief, Water Resources <br />Division (Geohydrologist) <br /> <br />On November 21, 1977 the WCC panel met for a briefing <br /> <br />session at the Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau) offices with J. <br /> <br />D. Brown, Chief, Division of Design; E. T. Scherik, Chief, Dams <br /> <br />Branch and interested members of the Dams Branch staff. Also <br /> <br />present at the meeting were Paul Knodel, Chief, Geotechnical <br /> <br />Branch, Division of Research, and interested members of his <br /> <br />staff; and C. W. Griffin, Regional Engineer and N. B. Bennett, <br /> <br />Regional Geologist, Lower Missouri Region Office. A list of <br /> <br />those in attendance is included in Appendix A. Following the <br /> <br />technical briefing session the WCC panel members were escorted <br /> <br />to the Geotechnical Branch Laboratories by Mr. Knodel to <br /> <br />inspect Denison Core samples from drill holes DD-30A and 555-D- <br /> <br />24-0 located along the dam axis. At that time the panel <br /> <br />members also inspected several sack samples of proposed borrow <br /> <br />materials from TP-A-I, TP-A-2 representing a filter-drain <br /> <br />material source, TP-T-l, TP-T-2, representing Zone 1 material: <br /> <br />TP-X-l and TP-X-2, representing Zone 2 materials. <br /> <br />./ <br />During the briefing session, each panel member was handed <br /> <br />certain drawings, data and other information which had been <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />assembled for the session. A large amount of other relevent <br /> <br />material, contained in a box, was made available to us. Most <br /> <br />of the latter material was from early investigations of the <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />- 2 - <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />fI <br />
