<br />o <br />IJ t.' <br />~ <br />~ <br />t,1J <br />N <br /> <br />Environmental Resources Committee <br /> <br />The committee met in Albuquerque on September 22, 1983 to address the <br />assignments made by AWRBLAC at the May 1983 meeting in Denver (See <br />Appendix I, Charge FY83). Only two committee members were present but <br />were ably asisted by the National Park Service, Santa Fe, and Fish and <br />Wildlife Service, Albuquerque, Regional Office staffs. This group <br />recommended that reports be presented to AWRBIAC in the following subject <br />areas and that certain agencies be designated lead responsibility as <br />indicated: <br /> <br />Aquatic Plant Control - Corps of Engineers <br />Endangered Species - Fish and Wildlife Service <br />Fish and Wildlife Mitigation - Bureau of Reclamation <br />Contaminants - Environmental Protection Agency <br />Wetland Resources - Fish and Wildlife Service <br />Cultural/Historical Resources - Corps of Engineers <br /> <br />It was scknowledged that greater participation by member agencies would <br />be required if the Committee was to complete these assignments. <br /> <br />The results of this meeting were presented to AWRBLAC at the October 1983 <br />meeting in Oklahoma City. In addition, time was requested in each of the <br />next two AWRBLAC meetings to present reports. <br /> <br />Comprehensive Planning Committee <br /> <br />The Comprehensive Planning Committee (CPC) held meetings in conjunction <br />with the 110th and 111th meetings of AWRBLAC. The State of Texas <br />reported on their progress in revising the Texas State Water Plan. A <br />summary report on U.S. House and Senate bills related to water was <br />prepared and distributed to CPC members. Various state members reported <br />on recent legislative actions by their respective state legislatures in <br />the water resources area. <br /> <br />STATE AND FEDERAL ACTIVITY REPORTS <br /> <br />The S-minute activity reports are a part of the agenda of each AWRBLAC <br />meeting. These reports cover legislation, planning, construction, <br />operation, and other subjects in the area of water and related land <br />resources. The S-minute activity reports are informative and generate <br />meaningful discussions. These reports are appended to the minutes of the <br />meetings. <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />In appreciation for services to the Arkansas-White-Red Basins <br />Inter-Agency Committee, resolutions were adopted for the following: <br />Lenard B. Young, Jack Davis, Tom Dennis, Sandy Vosburg, MG Hugh G. <br />Robinson, Clarence Vicroy, Harvey Davis, and Paul R. Wilson. <br /> <br />5 <br />
