These presentations facilitate <br />exchange of information and perspectives pertaining to program themes. <br /> <br />EFFECTS OF WATER DIVERSIONS <br /> <br />The "Effects of Water Diversions" was the prog,-am theme of the joint <br />AWRBIAC and UMRBA meeting held in October. Propossls to divert or <br />transfer large volumes of water from "water rich" to "water poor" areas <br />have given rise to many legal, political and economic questions in the <br />past several decades. Dunkeson <br /> <br />The speakers' presentations have been detailed in the report, "Effects of <br />Water Diversion - Panel Proceedings, October 13, 1982." <br /> <br />WATER DEVELOPMENT FINANCING IN THE '80s <br /> <br />Presentations made during the Hay meeting centered around the program <br />theme, "Water Development Financing in the '80s," and are summarized <br />below: <br /> <br />Water Project Financing in Colorado <br /> <br />Mr. David Walker, Assistant Director of the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board, spoke on Colorado's future water development needs and options for <br />project financing. Colorado's long-range water project investment needs <br />over the next 20 to 30 years have been estimated at $2-4 billion. <br /> <br />6 <br />
