As North Platte irrigation deliveries were initiated in May, the
Gray Reef release was increased to match the capacity of the
Fremont Canyon Powerplant minus the Casper Canal diversions. These
releases were maintained at that approximate level until July 25,
when the river bypass valves at Pathfinder Dam were opened. During
the time the valves were open (July 25 - August 15) the Gray Reef
release averaged 3,650 ft3/s. Thereafter, as a result of the allo-
cation of water to the North Platte Project, the Gray Reef release
was reduced to about 1,500 ft3/s during September.
During the May-September period, irrigation deliveries to the Kendrick
With near normal winter releases from upstream storage to prevent
icing problems, Glendo Reservoir filled as planned in the latter
part of April. At that time, Alcova-to-Glendo river gains increased
more than anticipated and the Gray Reef release had to be reduced
to 450 ft3/s. Alcova-to-Glendo river gains totaled 164,300 acre-feet
during the water year, which was above the long-term average of
143,000 acre-feet.
However, with heavy irrigation demands, the reservoir was drawn
down through the end of July. Thereafter, as a result of the
North Platte Project's water allocation and good precipitation over
the irrigated areas, Glenda Reservoir's storage was above normal
during the latter part of August and September.

A maximum seasonal release of 6,600 ft3/s occurred on August 10-13.
This release was planned to refill Guernsey Reservoir after the annual
Guernsey "silt run."
At the end of the water year, there were 109,600 acre-feet of water
stored in Glendo Reservoir which was above a 17-year average of 73,500
