Terzich,
EPA, became the first permanent chairman.

Committee Objectives

After the routine organizational chores were accomplished at
the 72-3 meeting, the members in attendance drafted an objec-
tives statement as a guide to committee activities:

"The objectives of this Subcommittee are to call
critical environmental matters to the attention
of PSIAC; to inform members of actions being taken
on environmental activities of members agencies;
and where necessary, to encourage initiation of
appropriate environmental actions.

All areas of environmental concern are ultimately
related to water or land resources. Usually the
relationships are quite direct, therefore, the
scope of the Committee should be quite broad."

Meetings

Salt Lake City, Utah, September 6-7, 1972, (72-3)

In addition to the organizational and objectives
work outlined above, the subcommittee agreed that
a future meeting formai should be used which would
allow for a discussion of a critical environmental
issue.
