Work was started in Apri] and com- <br />p]l'ted in June 1949 on three new connections on the Palos Verdes <br />feeder to serve the West Basin Municipal Water District. The con- <br />nection on Walnut Street near 247th Street will serve the Narbonne <br />Ranch Water Company No.2. The work comprised the connection <br />to an existing flanged outlet, the installation of a valve. meter, and <br />specials, and the construction of an 8-foot by 16-foot reinforced con- <br />crete structure. The connectiun at Fair\'iew Avenue and Appian <br />Way will serve the Los Angeles County Water Works District No. <br />13. The work involved connecting to an existing flanged outlet, the <br />im;tallation of a valve, meter. and specials and tbe construction of <br />two reinforced concrete structures, an 8-foot by ll-foot valve box <br />and a 10-foot by 18-foot meter structure. The third connection at <br />Casaba Road serves the Palos Verdes Water Company. This instal- <br />lation includes an outlet elbow cut into the existing 51-inch feeder, <br />a valve, meter. and specials and a 9-foot by 23-foot reinforced con- <br />crete structure. The first delivery of water to the West Basin <br />Municipal Water District was made through the Casaba Road con. <br />nection on June 23.1a4a. <br />A new connection on the Orange County feeder to serve the City <br />of Newport Beach. a constituent of Coastal Municipal Water Dis- <br />trict, was made during May and June 1949. The connection, located <br />about 11/~ miles southwest of Corona Del Mar reservoir, will supply <br />water directly to Newport Beach reservoirs.
