002964

.

.

2.2.2 La Plata Electric Facilities and Rates

Current power rates effective as of December, 1982 and line extension

policies effective as of July, 1984, for the La Plata Electric

Association as obtained from the Association November 13, 1984, are

attached in Appendix D-2.l. The irrigation power rate is as

follows:

First 100 KWH per HP connected, per season, per KWH $0.11960
Next 100 KWH per HP connected, per season, per KWH $0.084605

All additional KWH use, per season, per KWH $0.068605
The minimum charge is $12 per HP per year.

Power loads larger than 50 kilowatts (KW) are considered a large

service.

Rates for a large service are based on the maximum kilowatt

load used for a 15 minute consecutive period. The rates are then

based on the following:

Demand charge of $6.60 per month per KW of demand.
Energy charge of $0.06 per KWH.

Service to irrigation facilities as referenced in the Association's

service connection and line extension policy is considered an

"indeterminate service" as the amount and permanency of service

cannot be reasonably asssured. For this type of service, a

construction deposit is required but is refundable without interest

during the ten years immediately following construction of the

facilities.

The refund is calculated on the basis of 10 percent of

the annual revenue derived from the sale of energy from the

3
