<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />The National Environmental Policy Act <br />(P.L.-190) requires thai the Federal <br />Government, in its activities, maintain <br />conditions which will encourage pro- <br />ductive and enjoyable harmony be- <br />tween man and his environment. Envi. <br />ronmental impact statements (EIS) <br />must be prepared on major Federal <br />actions significantly aHecting the qual- <br />ity 01 human environment. Where envi- <br />ronmental statements are required. a <br />draft is prepared and comments are <br />obtained from interested governmental <br />and private organizations. The com- <br />ments are used in preparation 01 a final <br />environmental slatement which. like the <br />draft, is also filed with the Council on <br />Environmental Quality and furnished to <br />interested organizations. <br />In Fiscal Year 1973. final environmental <br />statements were prepared and filed with <br />the Council on Environmental Quality <br />on Crystal Dam and Reservoir, China <br />Meadows Dam and Reservoir. Savery_ <br />Pot Hook Project. Huntington Canyon <br />Generating Slation Unit No.1, and on <br />San Juan Generating Stalion Unit No_ <br />1.
