and capabilities for resolving the problems as limited by existing physical,
legal, financial and institutional arrangements and constraints.

To accomplish these three objectives five added subactivities will
be conducted by the regional assessment participants.
Subactivity 12 - Develop Effects Information for Each Problem
Using the analytical areas developed in subactivity 11, the effects
information for each problem will be developed and described using the
format of Figure 6. This information will be evolved by the staff for
both the modified central case and the regional preference future for the
years 1975, 1985 and 2000. Group A participants will be requested to

1476

review the information compiled during subactivity 12.
Subactivity 13 - Define Potential Level B Study Areas
Using the information assembled in subactivity 12, the geographic
extent of each Level B study area will be tentatively defined by the MRBC
staff.

Subactivity 14 - Develop Level B Study Area Effects Information
The effects information developed in subactivity 12 will be adjusted
to conform with the analytical areas defined in subactivitr 13. The
effects information will be displayed using the format of Figure 6 for
each of the proposed potential study areas as approximated by analytical
areas. This information will be tabulated for the modified central case

and for the regional preference future for each of the years 1975, 1985
and 2000. Additional computer information may be requested from the
Economic Research Service and the Bureau of Economic Analysis to aid in
describing the beneficial and adverse effects associated with the problems
contained in each identified study area. The staff will be responsible
for subactivity 14.
Subactivity 15 - Document the Differences Between the Modified Central Case
and the Regional Preference Future
In this subactivity the differences in the modified central case and

-8-
