Bauer <br /> <br /> <br />beet industry in the remainder of the Basin. <br /> <br /> <br />Certain water quality objectives were recommended <br /> <br /> <br />at the April 1966 conference as necessary to protect all <br /> <br /> <br />present and future beneficial uses. These beneficial uses <br /> <br /> <br />include municipal water supply, recreation, propagation of <br /> <br /> <br />fish and aquatic life, agriculture, industrial water supply, <br /> <br /> <br />esthetic$, and other legitimate needs. <br /> <br /> <br />The water quality objectives recommended by the <br /> <br />South Platte River Basin Project are as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />1. In the main-stem South Platte River from just <br /> <br /> <br />above the City of Littleton to the discharge <br /> <br /> <br />of Metropolitan Denver Sewage Disposal District <br /> <br /> <br />No.1 treatment facility; in Bear Creek from <br /> <br /> <br />the Town of Evergreen to its mouth; and in <br /> <br /> <br />Cherry Creek from Cherry Creek Reservoir to <br /> <br /> <br />its mouth -- <br /> <br /> <br />a. The dissolved oxygen (DO) content be main- <br /> <br /> <br />tained at not less than 5 mg/l; <br /> <br /> <br />b. The 5-day, 200C Biochemical Oxygen Demand <br /> <br /> <br />(BOD) level not be allowed to exceed 10 mg/l; <br /> <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />c. The total and fecal coliform levels not be <br /> <br /> <br />allowed to exceed 2,400 and 500 bacteria <br /> <br /> <br />per 100 ml, respectively. <br /> <br /> <br />,-,-, ,,"- <br /> <br />
