Natural inflow between Crystal and Blue Mesa
1,266,850 - 1,067,410 = 199,440 (1940-1985)
1,323,000 - 1,132,000 = 191,000 (1906-1983)
1,224,700 - 1,039,900 = 184,800 (1940-1983)
1,344,764 - 1,146,000 = 198,764 (1906-1985)
396,000 - 329,000 = 67,000 (1977)
4. Unregulated inflow between Crystal and Blue Mesa

199,440 - 55,030 = 144,4l0 (1940 - 1985)
191,000 - 55,030 = 135,970 (1906 1983)
184,800 - 55,030 = 129,770 (1940 - 1983)
198,764 - 55,030 = 143,734 (1906 1985)
67,000 - 55,030 = 11,970 (1977)

The 55,030 AF value represents total active storage space in
Morrow Point and Crystal. This value is conservative in that
normal operations of the units constantly fluctuate reservoir
levels which often creates the ability to do more regulation
than indicated. However, under a strict accounting these
reservoir units would not be entitled to anymore water than
indicated unless they are dropped below minimum power pool at
some time. Thus, this is a fair portrayal of what should happen
even though as a practical matter it probably has not and may
not occur in the future.

5. Unregulated flow into Blue Mesa = Natural flow - Depletions

329,000 - 67,530 = 261,470
1,067,410 - 67,530 = 999,880
1,132,000 - 67,530 = 1,064,470
1,039,900 - 67,530 = 972,370
1,146,000 - 67,530 = 1,078,470

(1977)
(1940 - 1985)
(1906 - 1983)
(1940 - 1983)
(1906 - 1985)

6.

Historical depletions above Blue Mesa

= 67,530

The depletions above Blue Mesa have been estimated in a number
of reports including the CWR&PDA Upper Gunnison-Uncompahgre
Basin Phase I study (53,500 AF); the 1953 Clifford Jex study
(57,700 AF); and the 1968 USDA Study (57,681 AF). If you add on
10,000 AF for Aspinall Unit evaporation and reduce Jex and USDA
values by 4,000 AF to reflect agricultural consumptive loss due
to inundation by the Aspinall Units the depletion values would

2
