The trans-

~

mountain diversion will have 1ittle.e~feat in quality of water that could

be used ~ Rocky Ford.. The other towns would not bene~it from the addition-

al water.

If the tawns below Pueblo desire water for munioipal use it will

be necessary for them to build a pipe line from the transmountain c&nal at

some point, probably Granerous Reservoir, to the respective towns. Two

possi ble routes are possible. Route number (1) would ~urnish the Vine1and

and North Avondale area, should, inorease in irrigated acreage sour rounding

these communities inorease the present population to an appreciable size. It

would ~urnish Fowler and Manzll!lola with a gravity system but ~or Rooky Ford,

La JQ~ta the water would have to be pumped to stand-pipes. . Route (2) would

take off at Granerous Reservoir and travel the higher grou~d supplying Rooky

Ford and La Junta with a gravity supply. In this oase Vineland and North

Avondale would be closer to the Pueblo puri~ioation pled than the valley

pipe line.
