(4) The ~uture supply would be supplied 12 months o~ the year by

a pipe line ~rom Granerous Reservoir on the potential transmountain canal

line to the purifioation plant on Salt Creek. The pipe line would be a 38

inoh line: The line would take of~ at Granerous Reservoir at elevation

5.810 and would I>onvey water to the purifioation plant at elevation 5.045.

The distanoe is 18 miles.

(5) The Pueblo water demand is based on the maximum day being

240 percent of the average day. The daily average for the maximrum demand

month of July is 41.2 millions of gallons or 632 o.~.s. for the 24 hour

period. The IJIlximm demand during the day would be taken care o~ by stor-

age in the distribution system.

The following estimate shows that the cost to the city of Pueblo

would be 2.750,000 exclusive o~ a purifioation plant. On an annual oost

The 8.Ilnual expense would, there~ore, be $121.000. This would al-

low for future delivery o~ water. However, at present rates o~ oonsumption

the cost per acre-foot charges to the system would be approximately $4.50

per acre-foot. The present cost of pumping for the North Side Waterworks

is $4.95 per acre-foot. The cost of the purification plant is not estimated

here but it is anticipated tha.t the saving in chemical now being used would

o~fset the added cost. The ~ollowing table shows the cost ~or chemical ~or

water treatment 1940 to 1944.
