Water started lilllng be- <br />hind the dam in early 1987. The reservOIr <br />will11ave a surface area 01 1,030 acres. <br /> <br />Construction tOlallng $19.6 million was <br />completed <br /> <br />Seedskadee Project: Spring runoll into <br />Fontenelle Reservoir in southwestern <br />Wyoming was 167 percent of normal. The <br />dam"s outlets were operating at maxi- <br />mum capacity but the Inllows still ex- <br />ceeded the outlet capacity. The high run- <br />011 swept debris Into the reservoir. <br />partially clogging the trash racks of the <br />outlet works. Divers were enlisted to diS- <br />lodge the debris which was curlaillng Ihe <br />planned releases flam tile reservoir. The <br />oullet works were closed during the div- <br />ing operation <br />Salety 01 Dams work on the test section <br />01 Fontenelle Dam started in 1985. The <br />work is not lunded by tl1e CRSP. The <br />results ot this contract. currently valued <br />at $6.7 million, will determine how the <br />final repair 01 tl1e dam will be accom- <br />plished. The work was 95 percent com- <br />plete by the end 01 H1e liscal year. As a <br />result of the low reselvolr elevation, Ihe <br />powerplant at Fontenelle is not In use. <br /> <br />Navajo Storage Unit: Investigations, <br />which were completed In 1984. into seep- <br />age at Navajo Dam Ilave been underway <br />Since it first filled. Subsequent investiga- <br />tive reports recommended that allhough <br />no damage to the core 01 the dam has <br />been idenlllled, a construction program <br />be initiated to conlrol tile seepage. A con- <br />lract lor the construction 01 a concrete <br />diaphragm wafl in the lell abutment was <br />awarded in September 1986 for <br />$9,756,000.
