<br />Section 8(b) of P,L. 87-483, previously quoted, requires that I <br />there be no impairment or depletion of existing or future beneficial uses' <br />of water within the State of Colorado. <br /> <br />On any day when the flow at a point of divel'sion exceeds the <br />required bypass at that diversion, the flow in excess of the required <br />bypass would be divertible by the project. Conversely, on MY day ~en <br />the flow at a point of diversion is equal to, or less than, the required <br />bypass, the flow at the point of diversioIl would not be divertible and <br />would be bypassed. <br /> <br />The diversion structures at the three authorized diversion <br />points will be so designed that the bypasses can be proPerly effected. <br />Gates will be provided so that all div.,rsions to the San Juan.Cha.ma, <br />Project could be refused in the event diversions could not legally <br />be made. <br /> <br />Measurements al'ld records' adequate to substaJatiate that the <br />required byp8.sEfes have beeIl effected will be made at each point of <br />diversion.
