123'::

.

.

.

VEst Slope recreation interests requested that the reservoir water level
not be drawn down below elevation 7706.0 (53,122 acre-feet), which is
2.0 feet alove the bottcm of the Forest Service boat r~. Under reason-
able maximum inflow conditions, the reservoir would theoretically be
drawn down to this elevation. H::Mever, under reasonable minimum and
rrost probable runoff conditions the reservoir would be drawn down to
alout elevation 7725 and 7715, respectively. In each case the reservoir
would fill by the first of July to provide optimum recreational benefits
during the sl.ll1lller rronths.

After July 1, operating plans call for drawing the reservoir dCMll to
elevation 7764.0 (2.0 feet below the spillway crest) and holding it at
this elevation until August 1. 'Ihen, only inflow and deliveries will be
passed during the rronth of August. The Colorado Division of3Wildlife
has requested that the outflow be maintained at alout 100 ft Is during
September to optimize the OOwnstream fishery. 'These flows will be
maintained under nonnal conditions. If conditions require it, the
outflow during these rronths may be adjusted to oonserve water.

If water is sold to entities downstream, the outflow fran the reservoir
will be adjusted to the situation at the time of delivery and will be
included in the overall operation.

Table 4 and Eldribit 8 sOOw the anticipated operation of Ruedi lEservoir
during water year 1979.

Turqooise Lake

Reservoir Inflow

Inflow to 'furqooise Lake for water year 1979 will be fran four sources:
Busk- Ivanhoe inqxJrts, Fryingpan-Arkansas Project inports, H:lnestake
Tunnel inports, and native flow of lake Fork Creek. Estimates of inflow
fran Busk- Ivanhoe and native lake Fork Creek were made using historical
records and probability analysis. Ibnestake Project plans to inport
only the 30,000 acre-feet of water that was stored in fbmestake Reservoir
during water year 1978 while the lbrrestake Tunnel was undergoing repairs.

'!he 10-, 50-, and 90-percent chance values obtained fran the probability
curves shawn on Exhibits 1 and 2 are oonsidered to represent the reasonable
minimum, rrost probable, and reasonable maximum inflows, respectively.
!>bnthly distribution of these values was made in accordance with historical
records. Fryingpan-Arkansas Project inports for the three ccnditians
are derived fran Exhibit 2 and are discussed in rrore detail under ''Western
Slope Collection System."

Minimum Reservoir Release

'The minimum release will be maintained at 15 ft3/s, or natural inflow,
whichever is less.

11
