It is estimated that a total of $488,000,000

will be spent in constructing the Yampa Project

facilities. Of this total, approximately

$100,000,000 is expected to go for labor

casts.

Construction will begin in 1974 and reach a peak
employment of 1,335 in 1977, then decline sharply
in 1978 until construction is complete in 1979.

The construction schedule has been lengthened,

beginning earlier than need be, in order to

spread construction employment as evenly as

possible.

After construction is complete, the Yampa Project

will supply a total of about 270 jobs, including
160 at the mine. By 1979, the operating payroll
will be $3.8 million. Royalties from the mine

accruing to individual, County, State and Federal

mineral owners are presently estimated to total

$11 million.

-176-
