USDA activities also included a determination of the contribution of

salt, sediment, and water into and through the irrigated area from

the upland watershed (diffuse area).

The purpose of this report is to present an analysis of the current

irrigation systems and practices in the Grand Valley and an evaluation

of the measures for improving systems and management to increase irrigation

efficiencies. Also presented is the analysis and evaluation of the

potential to improve upland watershed condition. The report discusses

the technical, economic, environmental, and social factors involved in

making improvements to reduce the associated salt load pickup.

13 COORDINATION

14 Coordination of USDA activities with state and federal agencies was

15 accomplished through the Grand Valley Salinity Coordinating Committee.
