For those portions within each problem area not <br />discussed, solutions to the problems are known. All that is re- <br />quired is implementation of the programs. <br /> <br />Problem No.1, High Plains Groundwater Irrigation, is expected <br />to receive considerable attention through the Economic Development <br />Administration' 5 proposed "High Plains Project.1I <br /> <br />TEXAS <br /> <br />Five problem areas were identified in Activity 2 in ASA's 1105, 1106, <br />and 1107. Two problems have been added that are of State-wide concern -- <br />"Flood problems" and "Water Supply and Quality Problems as a Consequence <br />of 'Implementing the 1974 Safe Drinking Water Act. <br /> <br />Three problems, "Flood Problems," "Water Supply and Quality Problems <br />in Small Cities and Rural Communities as a Consequence of Safe Drinking <br />Water Ac t;' and "Groundwater Depletion Problems in the Texas High Plains <br />are "Group A" problems. <br /> <br />While all seven problems are of concern to Texas, the Group B problems <br />are now so classed because they are being adequately addressed by an on- <br />going or recently completed study with timely solutions proposed by either <br />Federal or non-Federal entities.
