The names of the two problem areas have been changed <br />to the "Springfield Problem Area" and the "Joplin Problem Area." <br />Two Group B problem areas were identified, namely the Bootheel Area <br />and the Bates, Vernon, and Barton County Area which may be dis- <br />cussed further in Activity 4, the Summary Report. <br /> <br />NEW MEXICO <br /> <br />Three Group A Problems were identified by the State of New <br />Mexico in Activity 2. All three problems involve water supply <br />in these separate county areas: Problem 1 - Colfax and Mora <br />Counties; Problem 2 - Harding and Union Counties; and Problem 3 - <br />Quay County. <br /> <br />Two Group A Problems have been outlined for this Activity. <br />Problem No. 1 relates to water supply, flooding, erosion, recrea- <br />tion and related problems in the Counties of Colfax, Mora, Hard- <br />ing, Union, and Quay which essentially deals with issues covered <br />by the three problems described in Activity 2. <br /> <br />Problem No. 2 relates to High Plains Groundwater Irrigation <br />which consists of five general areas in ASA 1105, where groundwater <br />supplies are used extensively for irrigation. This problem was <br />.not separately identified in Activity 2. <br /> <br />OKLAHOMA <br /> <br />Thirteen problem areas in Oklahoma were identified in Activ- <br />ity 1, Problem Identification, and these were combined into 5 <br />Group A problem areas in Activity 2. The State of Oklahoma has <br />adopted the 5 Group A problem areas in Activity 3, and has added <br />a problem relating to the High Plains Groundwater Irrigation <br />(Ogallala), which is listed first in the following discussions. <br />The problem areas adopted in Activity 2 and in this report have <br />combined the 13 initial problem areas identified in Activity 1 <br />in the following manner with addition of the High Plains Ground- <br />water Irrigation problem: <br /> <br />Problem Area 1 - ASA's 1103, 1105, 1106 (High Plains Groundwater <br />Irrigation (Ogallala)) <br /> <br />Problem Area 2 - ASA 1103, Problem 1 (Lower Arkansas) <br />ASA 1103, Problem 2 (Cimarron River) <br /> <br />Problem Area 3 - ASA 1104, Problem 3 (Arkansas River below <br /> Keys tone) <br /> ASA 1104, Prob lem 4 (Tulsa Urban Area) <br /> ASA 1104, Problem 5 (Verdigris & Neosho- <br /> Grand Basins) <br /> ASA 1104, Problem 6 (McClellan-Kerr Navi- <br /> gation Project) <br /> 3 <br />
