covered in the Summary Report or Activity 4 as well as in this
report. The names of the two problem areas have been changed
to the "Springfield Problem Area" and the "Joplin Problem Area."
Two Group B problem areas were identified, namely the Bootheel Area
and the Bates, Vernon, and Barton County Area which may be dis-
cussed further in Activity 4, the Summary Report.

NEW MEXICO

Three Group A Problems were identified by the State of New
Mexico in Activity 2. All three problems involve water supply
in these separate county areas: Problem 1 - Colfax and Mora
Counties; Problem 2 - Harding and Union Counties; and Problem 3 -
Quay County.

Two Group A Problems have been outlined for this Activity.
Problem No. 1 relates to water supply, flooding, erosion, recrea-
tion and related problems in the Counties of Colfax, Mora, Hard-
ing, Union, and Quay which essentially deals with issues covered
by the three problems described in Activity 2.

Problem No. 2 relates to High Plains Groundwater Irrigation
which consists of five general areas in ASA 1105, where groundwater
supplies are used extensively for irrigation. This problem was
.not separately identified in Activity 2.

OKLAHOMA

Thirteen problem areas in Oklahoma were identified in Activ-
ity 1, Problem Identification, and these were combined into 5
Group A problem areas in Activity 2. The State of Oklahoma has
adopted the 5 Group A problem areas in Activity 3, and has added
a problem relating to the High Plains Groundwater Irrigation
(Ogallala), which is listed first in the following discussions.
The problem areas adopted in Activity 2 and in this report have
combined the 13 initial problem areas identified in Activity 1
in the following manner with addition of the High Plains Ground-
water Irrigation problem:
