It appears that the system <br />can be used to handle AQUATRAIN coal after separation from <br />CO2 at the pipeline terminus. A plant visit can be arranged. <br /> <br />Subteam leader met with ESU, Inc., regarding a proposal <br />for optimizing the AQUATRAIN management system. Vendor <br />suggests savings of 10-20 percent of project costs would <br />be expected. <br /> <br />5.2 ANTICIPATED AUGUST EVENTS <br /> <br />Complete designs and cost estimates of Stage III system to Pacific <br />Coast. <br /> <br />Continue identifying alternative sources of CO2, <br /> <br />Followup with Stearns-Roger on FGD system and coal cleaning technology. <br /> <br />Followup on effectiveness of fine coal handling system at TVA's <br />Bull Run Powerplant. <br /> <br />5.3 ANTICIPATED SEPTEMBER EVENTS <br /> <br />Plan to have better grip on following: <br /> <br />Determining basic cleaning potential of western coal. <br /> <br />Determining how to schedule and track batches of commodities <br />from numerous sources in varying amounts to delivery points in <br />an integrated pipeline system. <br /> <br />Finding sources of CO2 to optimize location, price, reserves, <br />and sales relative to coal marketing requirements. (Suggestions/asistance <br />will be appreciated.) <br /> <br />6.0 SUBTEAM: ENVIRONMENT/CORRIDOR/FEDERAL PERMITTING/ <br />ENERGY MANAGEMENT (Fite) <br />6.1 JULY EVENTS <br /> <br />BlM submitted the draft corridor study report for review <br />and comment. <br /> <br />Draft of Reclamation/Forest Service Memorandum of Understanding <br />was completed and submitted to the Forest Service for review <br />and comment. <br /> <br />4 <br />
