<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />0j <br /> <br />","t <br />....~ <br />(..,) <br /> <br />McKeever will attend the Western Governor's Conference on <br />August 17 in North Dakota. <br /> <br />(;) 2.3 ANTICIPATED SEPTEMBER EVENTS <br /> <br />Salinity bill hearings are scheduled for September 15. <br />3.0 SUBTEAM: COAL MARKET/COAL SUPPLY (McKeever) <br />3.1 JULY EVENTS <br /> <br />A meeting was held with NERCO and Pacific <br />on how AQUATRAIN could serve their needs. <br />with potential power demands and NERCO is <br />AQUATRAIN's liquid CO2/coal technology. <br /> <br />Utah Power and Light expressed a desire for testing transport <br />of large particle coal in liquid CO2, <br /> <br />On July 25, McKeever, Clinton, and Fite presented the engineering <br />and financial aspects of Stage I and Stage II to the Los <br />Angeles Department of Water and Power. LADWP will respond <br />within the next few weeks regarding their views on the concepts <br />presented. <br /> <br />Power and Li ght <br />PP&L is concerned <br />interested in <br /> <br />U.S. State Department requested estimate of cost of delivering <br />coal to Pacific Coast for use in energy/trade discussions <br />with Japan. <br /> <br />3.2 ANTICIPATED AUGUST EVENTS <br /> <br />Briefing of Wyoming coal and soda ash producers is anticipated <br />in August. <br /> <br />A general briefing for project participants and interested <br />parties is tentatively planned for August. Further details <br />will be forthcoming by separate letter. <br /> <br />3.3 ANTICIPATED SEPTEMBER EVENTS <br /> <br />McKeever will present a paper, jOintly authored with Clinton, <br />to the American Mining Congress on September 13 in San Francisco. <br />On the same day, Clinton addresses the Western Legislative <br />Conference Annual Meeting in Fairbanks, to present a jointly <br />authored paper. McKeever will also speak before a session <br />titled "Politics and Pollution" in Salt Lake City on September 7. <br /> <br />4.0 SUBTEAM: FINANCIAL/ECONOMIC (McKeever) <br />4.1 JULY EVENTS <br /> <br />Ernst and Whinney completed preliminary financial analysis <br />of test loop, Stage I and Stage II. <br /> <br />2 <br />
