<br /> <br />Exhibit C <br />Page 12 of 45 <br />Sheet 2 of 2 <br /> <br />NAVAJO STORAGE UNIT t COLORADO-NE"'; MEXICO <br /> <br />Major modifications were made in tbe outlet works stilling basin <br />during FY 1968 as a result of damage from erosion. ~~nor alter- <br />ations of tbe spillway stilling basin were also made. <br /> <br />Three recreational sites have been developed by the Natlo:lal Park <br />Service -- Arboles Site in Colorado, and the Pine River a~ Sims <br />Mesa sites in Ne~ Mexico. Facilities at each of the three sites <br />include utility systems, boat ~ps, access roads, parking areas. <br />picnicking and campground areas, and employee residences. Much of <br />the work done at Sims Mesa was accomplished during FY 1968. Tbe <br />facilities at the Arboles and Pine River sites ~ere constructed in <br />prior fiscal years. There are also visitor centers and marinas at <br />tbe Arboles and Pine River sites. <br /> <br />Operation of these facilities has been turned over to the New Mexico <br />Parks Oommdssion and to the Colorado Department of Game, Fish and <br />Parks, respectively. Currently there is a I)-mile reach of unsurfaced <br />road leading to the Sims Mesa area. However, the New Mexico Highway <br />Commission has plans to realign and surface this road. <br /> <br />The Bureau of Sport Fisheries and IJlldl1fe 1n cooperation wi tb the <br />various State fish aod game departments accomplished the following <br />during IT 1968, <br /> <br />(1) Stocked Navajo Reservoir .-ttb rainbow trout fingerlings, <br />cbannel catfish aod largemouth bass. <br /> <br />(2) The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish completed addi- <br />tional segments of the range rehabilitation measures and structural <br />improvements programmed for the Navajo !6.m and ;,,'ildl1fe ~nagement <br />Project.
