Q <br />..~ /__ ..... ..: :::. oJ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-12- <br /> <br />(E) General recreation uses, such as swimming, <br /> <br />2 boating, horseback riding, camping, picnicking, <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />(F) Such other uses as the Secretary may deem <br /> <br />4 appropriate. <br /> <br />5 (3) HUNTING, FISHING, AND TRAPPING. -- The Secretary <br /> <br />6 shall permit hunting, fishing, and trapping on the lands and <br /> <br />7 waters under his jurisdiction within the Gunnison Gorge <br />8 National Recreation Area in accordance with applicable laws <br /> <br />9 and regulations of the United States and the State of <br /> <br />10 Colorado. The Secretary, after consultation with the Colorado <br /> <br />11 Division of Wildlife, may issue regulations designating zones <br /> <br />12 where and establishing periods when no hunting, fishing, or <br /> <br />13 trapping shall be permitted for reasons of public safety, <br /> <br />14 administration, or public use and enjoyment. <br /> <br />15 (c) MINING. -- <br /> <br />16 (1) WITHDRAWAL. -- Subject to valid existing rights, the <br /> <br />17 lands within the Gunnison Gorge National Recreation Area are <br /> <br />18 hereby withdrawn from location, entry and patent under the <br /> <br />19 mining laws of the United States. The Secretary, under such <br /> <br /> <br />20 reasonable regulations as he deems appropriate, may permit <br /> <br /> <br />21 the removal of nonleasable minerals from lands or interest in <br /> <br />22 lands within the Recreation Area in the manner prescribed by <br />23 section 10 of the Act of August 4, 1939, as (53 Stat. 1196; <br />24 43 U.S.C. 387). The Secretary may permit the removal of <br /> <br />25 leasable minerals from lands or interests in lands within the <br />
