The Secretary, after consultation with the Colorado <br /> <br />11 Division of Wildlife, may issue regulations designating zones <br /> <br />12 where and establishing periods when no hunting, fishing, or <br /> <br />13 trapping shall be permitted for reasons of public safety, <br /> <br />14 administration, or public use and enjoyment. <br /> <br />15 (c) MINING. -- <br /> <br />16 (1) WITHDRAWAL. -- Subject to valid existing rights, the <br /> <br />17 lands within the Gunnison Gorge National Recreation Area are <br /> <br />18 hereby withdrawn from location, entry and patent under the <br /> <br />19 mining laws of the United States. The Secretary, under such <br /> <br /> <br />20 reasonable regulations as he deems appropriate, may permit <br /> <br /> <br />21 the removal of nonleasable minerals from lands or interest in <br /> <br />22 lands within the Recreation Area in the manner prescribed by <br />23 section 10 of the Act of August 4, 1939, as (53 Stat. 1196; <br />24 43 U.S.C. 387).
