\

.

[IDOOffi~lJ ·

The communities and industrial users in the area submitted tentative
water requests to the districts for initial delivery of water totaling
almost 23,000 acre-feet per year. For the purposes of this evaluation,
25,000 acre-feet per year were used. This operation would not require
additional features or costs.

This alternative provides for the delivery of 108,000 acre-feet of
supplemental water for irrigation and 25,000 acre-feet for municipal and
i ndustri al water use assumi ng the acqui si tion of 31,000 acre-feet of
Weldon Valley Canal water.

Authorized Narrows Unit with Municipal and Industrial
Water without Flood Control

This evaluation provided for all the authorized project functions except
the flood control. Without flood control, Narrows Dam would be approx-
imately 3 feet lower in height, the service spillway woul d not require
radial gates, and land acquisition wOl.lld be reduced by approximately
14,000 acres. The cost estimate for the Narrows Unit was based on the
feasibil ity design as presented in the 1976 Addendum. The plan was
repriced and indexed to January 1981 price levels. The reduced project
cost is shown in the following tabulation.

4
