As a result of <br />the administration's decision not to seek funding in fiscal year 1978, <br />the complaint was dismissed without prejudice on March 2, 1979. <br /> <br />The project field office in Fort Morgan, Colorado, was closed in <br />December 1978. Federal funds total ing over $7 mill ion were expended <br />through fi seal year 1981 for preauthorization investigations, advance <br />planning, preconstruction activities, and land acquisition. <br /> <br />State and local interests continue to be supportive of resuming con- <br />struction of the Narrows Unit. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED <br /> <br />This study evaluated two plans. Both plans have M&I service scheduled <br /> <br />for the initial year of water delivery. One plan is based on the <br /> <br />authorized purposes. A second pl an includes all of the authorized <br /> <br />purposes with the exception of flood control. An analysis was prepared <br /> <br />for the addition of a hydroelectric powerplant to the plan. <br /> <br /> <br />Authorized Narrows Unit with Municipal and Industrial Water <br /> <br />Public Law 93-89, which authorized the Narrows Unit, provided for <br />suppl emental i rri gati on water, flood control, recreation enhancement, <br />fish and wildl ife conservation and development, highway improvement, and <br />future municipal and industrial water supplies. <br /> <br />3 <br />
