Officers are appointed for a 1-year term. . The
appointment of new officers was formally approved for the 1981-82 term
at the September meeting of the board in accordance with the order of
progression within the irrigation districts for chairman and vice-
chairman. Reclamation's representative is to be the Secretary. Officers
appointed were:

Chairman:

Clyde Bowman, Bard Water District

Vice-Chairman:

Bob Wilson, Imperial Irrigation District

Secretary:

Tom Boyer, Bureau of Reclamation

The March 1981 meeting of the Imperial Dam Advisory Board was hosted by the
Yuma Mesa Irrigation and Drainage District.

Tom Boyer was asked to report on the February 19. 1981, Water Operations
Committee meeting. He mentioned the main reason for the meeting was to let
the watermasters and districts know Reclamation has returned to releasing
water from storage for downstream irrigation and domestic requirements
only, and we need their cooperation in obtaining realistic and accurate
water orders so that we may meet our objectives of having ample water
available for diversion at Imperial Dam and minimizing overdeliveries to
Mexico. Because of the low runoff forecast and almost 9 million acre-feet
of storage space in the Colorado River reservoirs, releases from Parker Dam
were substantially reduced in January and after that the releases were then
reduced to downstream requirements only.

19
