He also explained in detail the new
ground-water law.

The Bard Water District hosted the June meeting. Bob Brose, Chief, River
Development Branch, Bureau of Reclamation in Boulder City was guest
speaker. Mr. Brose explained plans under consideration to restore maximum
flood control capability to the Yuma Division.

Eugene Hinds, Regional Director, Lower Colorado Region, Bureau of
Reclamation, Boulder City, was the guest speaker at the September meeting
hosted by the Yuma County Water User's Association. Mr. Hinds reviewed
Reclamation's activities in the Yuma area and discussed the proposal for
the transfer of the remaining O&M work at Imperial Dam presently handled by
Reclamation to the Imperial Irrigation District.

The December meeting was hosted by the Yuma Irrigation District.
N. W. Plummer, the new Regional Director, Bureau of Reclamation, Lower
Colorado Region, Boulder City, was introduced. Mr. Plummer presented an
informative update on the Colorado River Salinity Control Project
construction program.

IX. CONCLUSIONS

The Imperial Irrigation District is operating the works transferred in
accordance with provisions of the All-American Canal Contract dated
December I, 1932, and Supplemental Contract Ilr-747 dated March 4, 1952.

The coordination between the operating forces of the Imperial Irrigation
District and the Government in the operation of Imperial Dam has continued
to be excellent. The District is continuing to operate and maintain the
transferred works in an exemplary manner.

Most of the irrigation districts continued to do an excellent job in
placing realistic water orders during the year.

Senator Wash Regulating Reservoir has provided flexibility in river
operations and has been an effective means of reregulating riverflow.

The Imperial Dam Advisory Board has provided a means for the members to
discuss problems of mutual concern related to the delivery of water at
Imperial Dam.

Most of the surplus flows arriving at Imperial Dam were scheduled through
Pilot Knob Power Plant to maximize power production.

Sufficient water was scheduled below Imperial Dam
concentrations of sediment returned to the California
from the All-American Canal desilting basins.

to remove high
Sluiceway Channel

20
