<br />113l <br /> <br />Conclusions and Recommendations <br /> <br />~,... <br />f'V <br />to <br />CO <br /> <br />responsibility for investigating, planning, and implementing <br /> <br />the basinwide salinity control program in the Colorado River <br /> <br />system; <br /> <br />5) the Environmental Protection Agency continue its <br /> <br />support of the program by a) consulting with and advising the <br /> <br />Bureau of Reclamation, b) accelerating its ongoing data col- <br /> <br />lection and research efforts, and c) transferring funds to the <br /> <br />Bureau of Reclamation; <br /> <br />6) the Office of Saline Water contribute to the <br /> <br />program by assisting the Bureau of Reclamation as required to <br /> <br />appraise the practicability of applying desalting techniques; <br /> <br />and. <br /> <br />7) the adoption of numerical criteria be deferred <br /> <br />until the potential effectiveness of Colorado River salinity <br /> <br />control measures is better known; <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Environmental Pro- <br /> <br />tection Agency be commended for performing the necessary <br /> <br />studies ,and completing the 1971 report on the Mineral Quality <br /> <br />Problem in the Colorado River Basin; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution <br /> <br />be transmitted to the Secretary of State, Secretary of the <br />\ <br />Interior, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, <br /> <br />Governors and Members of the Congress of the Colorado River <br />
