Contracts completed or essentially com- pleted during tiscal year 1985 included the completion of Stillwater Tunnei: Strawberry Tunnel Inlet Rehabilitation, Soldier Creek Dam Right Abutment Drain- age, Vat Diversion and West Fork Pipe- line: Clearing Strawberry Reservoir: Strawberry Administrative Site Develop- ment: Strawberry Bay Campground Facili- ties, Sheep Creek-Rays Valley Road, Haws POint Access Road: and West Side Road Repair: and Soldier Creek Dam Fisherman Access Road. The foundation excavation work at Upper Stillwater Dam was completed The con- tract for Upper Stillwater Dam, the Bur- eau of Reclamation's tlrst "roller compac- ted concrete'. dam, was awarded in Dec- ember 1983, and the scheduled comple- lion date is July 1987. Tyger Construction Do, of Spartanburg, South Carlina, is building the $60,603,625 dam. By the end ot 1985, the dam was 36 percent com- plete. Stillwater Tunnel was nearly complete by the end of the year and work continued 011 the North Fork Siphon of the Straw- berry Aqueduct and Collection System. With a November t 9B6 completion date, fhe construction ot the siphon is 65 per- cent complete. Work also continued on the Reach 4 of the Jordan Aqueduct, now 60 percent complete: sand production for Upper Stillwater Dam, 20 percent com- plete: the Chicken Creek Access Road Relocation and Soldier Creek Marina Parking Expansion, 20 percent complete: and the Duchesne Government Com- munity Annex B, 85 percent complete. On the Jensen Unit, a $9 million contract tor Tyzack Aqueduct and Pumping Plant was near completion. A $1.9 million con- tract for Tyzack Aqueduct-Reach 2 was awarded in August 1984 and was about complete by the end of liscal year 19B5. Becho, Inc., of Salt Lake City, was award- ed the contract tor the breaching ot the old Strawberry Dam and Indian Creek Dike. The breaChing of the darn was the final step in the enlargement of the Strawberry Reservoir which, when full, will have a storage capacity of 1.1 million acre-feel. Jensen Unit - Construcllon was substan- tially complete on both the Tyzack Pump- ing Plant and on Reach 2 of the Tyzack Aqueduct. Uintah Unit - The Bureau ot Reclama- tion has proposed nonstructural alter- natives to meet the ferms of the Deterral Agreement with the Ute Indian Tribe. The Secretary of the Interior is presently negotiating with the Tribe.
