Aspinall <br />Storage Unit. <br /> <br />Construction expenditures on the Central <br />Utah, Dolores, Dallas Creek, and Col- <br />orado River Storage Project totaled <br />$1467 million. <br /> <br />Construction or rehabilitation was also in <br />progress on Navalo Unit: Central Utah <br />PrOject's Bonneville. Jordan <br />Aqueduct - Reach 4 and Alpine Aqueduct <br />- Reach 3: along with other smaller con- <br />tracts for drrlling. recreational lacllities, <br />and road repair <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br /> <br />McPllee DarYl, Dolores Project <br /> <br />Contracts awarded In tiscal year 1985 in- <br />cluded the breaChing of Strawberry Dam <br />and Indian Creek Dike: and numerous <br />smaller contracts tor recreation facilities, <br />drilling, buildings, and road repair. <br /> <br />Contracts completed or essentially com- <br />pleted during tiscal year 1985 included <br />the completion of Stillwater Tunnei: <br />Strawberry Tunnel Inlet Rehabilitation, <br />Soldier Creek Dam Right Abutment Drain- <br />age, Vat Diversion and West Fork Pipe- <br />line: Clearing Strawberry Reservoir: <br />Strawberry Administrative Site Develop- <br />ment: Strawberry Bay Campground Facili- <br />ties, Sheep Creek-Rays Valley Road, <br />Haws POint Access Road: and West Side <br />Road Repair: and Soldier Creek Dam <br />Fisherman Access Road. <br /> <br />The foundation excavation work at Upper <br />Stillwater Dam was completed The con- <br />tract for Upper Stillwater Dam, the Bur- <br />eau of Reclamation's tlrst "roller compac- <br />ted concrete'. dam, was awarded in Dec- <br />ember 1983, and the scheduled comple- <br />lion date is July 1987. Tyger Construction <br />Do, of Spartanburg, South Carlina, is <br />building the $60,603,625 dam. By the end <br />ot 1985, the dam was 36 percent com- <br />plete. <br /> <br />Stillwater Tunnel was nearly complete by <br />the end of the year and work continued <br />011 the North Fork Siphon of the Straw- <br />berry Aqueduct and Collection System. <br />With a November t 9B6 completion date, <br /> <br />fhe construction ot the siphon is 65 per- <br />cent complete. Work also continued on <br />the Reach 4 of the Jordan Aqueduct, now <br />60 percent complete: sand production for <br />Upper Stillwater Dam, 20 percent com- <br />plete: the Chicken Creek Access Road <br />Relocation and Soldier Creek Marina <br />Parking Expansion, 20 percent complete: <br />and the Duchesne Government Com- <br />munity Annex B, 85 percent complete. <br />On the Jensen Unit, a $9 million contract <br />tor Tyzack Aqueduct and Pumping Plant <br />was near completion. A $1.9 million con- <br />tract for Tyzack Aqueduct-Reach 2 was <br />awarded in August 1984 and was about <br />complete by the end of liscal year 19B5. <br /> <br />Becho, Inc., of Salt Lake City, was award- <br />ed the contract tor the breaching ot the <br />old Strawberry Dam and Indian Creek <br />Dike. The breaChing of the darn was the <br />final step in the enlargement of the <br />Strawberry Reservoir which, when full, <br />will have a storage capacity of 1.1 million <br />acre-feel. <br /> <br />Jensen Unit - Construcllon was substan- <br />tially complete on both the Tyzack Pump- <br />ing Plant and on Reach 2 of the Tyzack <br />Aqueduct. <br /> <br />Uintah Unit - The Bureau ot Reclama- <br />tion has proposed nonstructural alter- <br />natives to meet the ferms of the Deterral <br />Agreement with the Ute Indian Tribe. The <br />Secretary of the Interior is presently <br />negotiating with the Tribe. <br />
