nnOS7~

.

.

~uzzard Creek Reservoir. We are currently awaiting receipt of their
revised report. A draft report has been received from the Bureau of
Sport Fisheries and Wildlife. We are considering further potential
measures to be adopted for reducing deer management problems that
will develop from the conversion of land now being used for grazing
used to irrigation use. No delay in submission of the feasibility
report is expected from this aspect of the fish and wildlife report.
A draft of the proposed feasibility report has been completed and is
under review in this office. The proposed feasibility report is
scheduled to be completed in March 1967.

Plan formulation studies, water supply studies, and agricultural
economic studies are continuing on the Bluestone Project. Foundation
explorations were completed recently at the Parachute Damsite, an off-
stream site located near the confluence of Parachute Creek and the
Colorado River. Geologic conditions which developed may require re-
consideration of a potential reservoir site on Parachute Creek below
the three forks.

On the Grand Mesa Project, plan formulation studies and water
supply studies are in progress. Preparation of the project lands and
drainage appendices is underway. Aerial topographic maps for Electric
Mountain Service Canal have been completed by the contractor. Final
payment has been made to the contractor and liquidated damages assessed.
A proposed feasibility report is scheduled for completion in F.Y. 1968.

Plan formulation studies and water supply studies are continuing
~on the Upper Gunnison Project. Land classification and drainage field-
work has been completed. Analysis of land classification soil samples
has been completed and office tabulations are in progress. A proposed
feasibility report is scheduled for completion in F.Y. 1970.

Feasibility designs and estimates for the Yellow Jacket Project
are being prepared for sections of the Josephine Basin Canal and Yellow
Jacket Canal, Milk Creek Canal, Lost Park collection system, and proj-
ect laterals. Assembly of design data for other project features is
in progress. The Project Lands Appendix is completed and the Drainage
Appendix is essentially completed. Preparation of the Plan Formula-
tion, Water Supply, and Agricultural Economy Appendices is continuing.

The Yellow Jacket Project, as now planned, would include storgge
at Lost Park and Ripple Reservoir sites in the White River drainage
and the Thornburgh Reservoir site located on Milk Creek in the Yampa
River drainage, and canals consisting of the 21-mile Milk Creek
Canal, 38-mile Yellow Jacket Canal, and 40-mile Josephine Basin
Canal. Some minor laterals, drains, and channel stabiiization will
be required. Project water would be delivered for the irrigation of
22,000 acres of full service and 6,500 acres of supplemental service
lands and for 50,000 acre-feet annually for municipal and industrial
use in connection with anticipated oil shale developments in the

6
