<br />The 190-foot high Chimney Rock
<br />earth dam near Vinita, Okla., with a
<br />crest length of 1700 feet formed a
<br />reservoir which experienced losses of
<br />large volumes of water by seepage
<br />through the reservoir rim, The firm
<br />analyzed the seepage and suggested
<br />alternative methods of control. In
<br />addition, a consulting board of the
<br />firm's principals reviewed data from
<br />instrumentation and reported on
<br />safety as required by Federal Power
<br />Commission regulations. Client for the
<br />project was the Grand River Dam
<br />Authority, Vinita, Okla.

<br />
<br />The Public Service Company of
<br />Colorado called on the Denver-based
<br />firm for consultation on slope stabil-
<br />ity and other problems for the
<br />pumped storage hydrolectric project,
<br />Cabin Creek is located in an area of
<br />pre-Cambrian bedrock high in the
<br />Colorado mountains. The project
<br />included an upper, off-channel reser-
<br />voir to store water for use during peak
<br />periods of electricity demand.
