A suit has been filed by the Cities of Las Vegas <br />and North Las Vegas, against Clark County, State of <br />Nevada and EPA, challenging the necessity for the AWT <br />Plant. <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />As a result of the uncertainties associated with <br /> <br />the Las Vegas Wash Unit, the Bureau has recommended that <br /> <br /> <br />construction of the unit be deferred and that a reevalua- <br /> <br />tion of the hydro-salinity system and resolution of contro- <br />versy surrounding the AWT Plant and future Wash development <br />be made. The Advisory Council agrees and recommends that <br />the Bureau proceed with reevaluation of the hydrologic <br />system in light of changing conditions. This study should <br />be carried out as expeditiously as possible in consulta- <br />tion with the Advisory Counc:H. In addition, the Bureau <br />and the Clark County 208 agency should coordinate and <br /> <br />consult with each other on the studies and investigation <br /> <br />related to the Wash. <br /> <br />Water QUa+itv Improvement Program <br />The Advisory Council has become increasingly concerned <br />with the current and projected delays in the scheduled <br />completion dates for feasibility studies on those projects <br />which are included in the Water Quality Improvement Program <br />as directed by Title II of P.L. 93-320.
