In the year 2050, Douglas County area and the Arapahoe County participant area would
have an estimated population of 640,000 versus 405,686 in the study area. Parker Water and
Sanitation District estimates a buildout population of about 135,000. Therefore, Larkspur
and the more rural areas of Douglas County would have an estimated population of just less
than 100,000.

Employment growth is expected to continue at the rates seen in the 1990's. Douglas County
has projected that the current 56,655 jobs in Douglas County will increase to between
154,206 and 191,762jobs by the year 2020.

Figure 2.2 illustrates the projected population in the South Metro Area through the year
2050. The projections are for all of Douglas County plus the population growth projections
of ECCV, ACWW A, and the portion ofInvemess in Arapahoe County.
