J

i.~
v;4

.

.

Reconnaissance studies have been undertaken for the southern Cache
County in the Little Bear River basin to determine tbe development possi..
bi1ities and the integration necessary with the Bear River Project.

Central utah Project, Utah

Investigational work has been primarily on detailed surveys and
studies for the Vernal unit and on reconnaissance-t~'Pe studies of devel-
opment possibilities in Ouray Valley. Topographic surveys were completed
for the Mona-I1ephi and West Valley Canals.

Gooseberry Project, utah

Ground water observations and streamflow measurements on the San
Pitch River were carried on for use in subsequent studies.

Sublette Project, Wyoming

Reconnaissance studies were completed covering possibilities for
further water resource development in the Upper Green River basin. The
West Side Division would be a dual-purpose development for the irrigation
of 34,000 acres of new land and 5,250 acres of supplemental service land
and hydroelectric production of about 2,500 kilowatts at Kendall Reservoir,
The Buckskin division would provide irrigation water for 37,400 acres of
new land and 10,500 acres of supplemental service land and an installed
generating capacity of 2,000 kilowatts.

Considering the indicated low benefit-cost ratio of 0.95 to 1 and
the present impracticability of dividing large livestock holdings into
new family-sized farms, detailed investigations of the weat Side Division
is not warranted at this time. The Buckskin Division, however, has a
benefit-cost ratio of 1.3 to 1.

Seedskadee Project, Wyoming

Land classification field work was completed. Laboratory analysis
of embankment materials for Fontenelle Dam, topographic surveys for West
Side Canal and plan formulation studies were carried forward. Prelim-
inary studies show a 5,000 kilowatt powerplant and 105,000 acre-foot of
active capacity in Fontenelle Reservoir in combination with the irriga-
tion features to be the best scale of development.

Savery-Pot Hook Project, Colorado-Wyoming

Completion of the authorizing report has been deferred pending
further recommendations by Colorado and Wyoming state officials.

Yampa-White Project, Colorado-Utah-Wyorning

Reconnaissance-type studies were continued on the potential develop-
ments in the basin. Field surveys were made for canals which would de-
liver water from potential Wessels and California Parks Reservoirs.

1268

2
