ADMINISTRATION OF SURVEY <br /> <br />The investigations wil I be administered by the Soil Conservation Service <br />assisting the Delta County Soil Conservation District and the Shavano <br />Soil Conservation District (Montrose and Ouray Counties), in cooperation <br />with the other state and federal agencies, the Uncompahgre Valley Water <br />Users Association, and other water user groups. <br /> <br />Description of Work Items <br /> <br />1. Develop a coordination program for working with the Bureau of <br />Reclarnation, Bureau of Land Management, Agriculture Research Service, <br />State of Colorado, and other interested agencies. <br /> <br />2. Develop and maintain communication with local farm or ranch operator'; <br />and water users associations to obtain their input into the program. <br /> <br />3. Secure needed aerial photography, maps, and farm plots. <br /> <br />4. Assemble and review available research and basic data appl icable to <br />the program evaluation. <br /> <br />5. Interpret soils information for irrigation design and update the <br />irrigation guides for the area. <br /> <br />6. Develop procedures, worksheets, and other material for field inven- <br />tories. <br /> <br />7. Field inventory - inverview the farmers and ranchers in the basin, <br />and complete the worksheets. <br /> <br />8. Make an assessment of socioeconomic, institutional, environmental, <br />and agronomic factors in the basin. The assessment is for the <br />present condition as well as for possible future conditions. <br /> <br />9. Complete an investigation on ground water and drainage relationships <br />and how salt loadings occur. <br /> <br />10. Initiate irrigation efficiency investigations and field trials for <br />estimating present and potential irrigation efficiencies. <br /> <br />11.
