0')
00
c:.c

(,,:)
c
~ as documentation of the changes. The sites would be at se,eps, large

phreatophytic growths, deteriorated structures, and locati, ons of proposed

structures. Monthly color photographs would be made befor.., during and after

construction, from the same spot on the ground, on the sam,. date, and with

approximately the same sun angle.

Additional monitoring proposals have been discussed but later dismissed.

In particular, the Grand Valley Salinity Coordinating Committee (November 1,

1979) decided it would not be feasible to try to separate lIll the effects of

on-farm and non-farm improvements. The USDA Science and Education

Administration - Agricultural Research and Colorado State University have

studied on-farm efficiency, uniformity, deep percolation, leaching

requirements, soil salinity, and irrigation practices. On-.going studies will

provide more information on optimum on-farm water managemerlt. An attempt will

be made to determine some of the effects of the on-farm program through a

cooperative study between the Water and Power Resources Service, the Soil

Conservation Service, the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service,

the USDA Science and Education Administration - Agricultural Research, and

Colorado State University. Colorado State University will conduct this study

with equipment, peraonnel, and monetary support of the other agencies.

Presentation and Analysis of Data

Well Data Files

A large portion of the Stage One data was stored on a data base. This

data base has been dropped by the computer company. These data are presently

being converted to list directed data files.

The advantage of using listed

directed files will be speed and ease of data extraction and manipulation.

Data presentation and analysis will be facilitated by use of a plotter.

28
