The budgets will also be used to predict project

benefits (Stage One Development, Grand Valley Unit, D,.finite Plan Report

March 1980). Measured post construction flows and salt loads will be compared

to the predicted values to evaluate project benefits. Statistical and

graphical methods will be used to evaluate the presence and effects of typical

weather Dr water deliveries. ponding tests, measurement of lateral

diversions, revised evapotranspiration potential (ETP), and other pertinent

information will be utilized to gather post construction data. The column

explanations for the water budget are as follows:

Inflow to the study area

Column 1 Government Highline Canal.--The flows "ere calculated from
the gaging station operated by the Geological Survey on the
the Canal at 16 Road.

CD lumn 2 Grand Valley Kiefer Extension. --The flows were calculated
from the gaging station operated by thE: Geological Survey on
the canal.

Column 3 Inflow above Highline.--The flows above the Highline Canal
were estimated at 10 percent of the precipitation falling on
the drainage above the canal.

Column 4 Precipitation.--Records for the study area were extrapolated
from National Weather Service data collected at the Grand
Junction Airport.

Outflow from the study area

Column 5 Government Highline.--The flows were calculated from the gaging
stations operated by the Geological Survey and adjusted by
Highline Lake operation study.

Column 6 Grand Valley Kiefer Extension.--The flows were calculated from
the gaging stations operated by the Geological Survey.

29
