<br />002J~? <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />QUARTERLY REPORT FOR 60-4 MEETING <br />PACIFIC SOUTHWEST INTER-AGENCY COMMITTEE <br />LAS VEGAS, NEVADA <br />NOVEMBER 29-30, 1960 <br /> <br />~ ' <br /> <br />State Water ,Resources Development System <br />On November 8, 1960, a majority of the voters in the <br />state approved the "California Water Resources Development Bond <br />Act", which provides for a $1,750,000,000 bond issue to provide <br />financing to complete facilities to meet the water needs of the <br />next 25 years. Included among the projects specified in the <br />Act are the Feather River Project, the Delta Water Project, the <br />North San Francisco Bay Aqueduct, the South San Francisco Bay <br />Aqueduct, the San Joaquin Valley-Southern California Aqueduct, <br /> <br />and the San Joaquin Valley Drainage Facilities. Construction <br />of additional facilities to meet still undetermined local needs <br /> <br />and for augmentation of the Delta pool as needed is also pro- <br />vided for. <br /> <br />The Upper Feather River Division of the Feather River <br />Project comprises five reservoirs on head water tributaries of <br />the river. Two of these, Frenchman and Grizzly Valley, with a <br />combined capacity of 130,000 acre-feet, are primarily for <br />irrigation. Antelope Valley, Dixie Refuge, and Abbey Bridge, <br />with a combined capacity of 48,800 acre-feet are primarily <br /> <br />for recreation. <br /> <br />The Oroville Division of the Feather River Project <br />includes Orovi11e dam; Orovi11e power plant; Therma1ito diver- <br />sion dam, canal, forebay, power plant and afterbay; and the <br />Orovil1efish hatchery. Capacity of Oroville reservoir will be <br />3,523,000 acre-feet, and the capacity of the power plant <br /> <br />f_ <br /> <br />, <br />I <br />r <br />.1!_...:'iJ. <br />
