It authorized and provided funds for <br />contracts with individuals and agencies, public and private, the <br />appointment of a technical consultant group and an advisory council, <br />and the employment of a full-time executive officer and staff. <br />The report is the first product of a little more than two years of <br />coordinated effort by state and federal agencies, counties, cities, <br />citizens organizations, and individuals. Part 2 of the report, <br />which will set forth more of the statistics upon which the plan <br />is based is in preparation. Recreation is directly involved in <br />the regular work of most of the agencies represented on the com- <br />mittee by their chief officers.
