<br />a. , .. <br /> <br />t'H42j4S <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />the Executive Office~ of the state Lands Commission, and assigned <br />to it the responsibility for the development of a recreation plan <br />based on a survey of present and future needs of the people of the <br />State for outdoor recreation. It authorized and provided funds for <br />contracts with individuals and agencies, public and private, the <br />appointment of a technical consultant group and an advisory council, <br />and the employment of a full-time executive officer and staff. <br />The report is the first product of a little more than two years of <br />coordinated effort by state and federal agencies, counties, cities, <br />citizens organizations, and individuals. Part 2 of the report, <br />which will set forth more of the statistics upon which the plan <br />is based is in preparation. Recreation is directly involved in <br />the regular work of most of the agencies represented on the com- <br />mittee by their chief officers. It is recommended in the report <br />that the committee be continued in existence, utilizing the person- <br />nel of the ,several agencies as its staff. <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />",,;]Li <br />
