Juniper Reservoir has a conditional <br />decree for 844,294 acre-feet and is located on the Yampa <br />River between Maybell and Craig. Bear Reservoir has a con- <br />ditional decree for 11.614 acre-feet and is located on the <br />Yampa River near Blacktail Mountain upstream of Steamboat <br />Springs. The conditional decree for Bear'Reservoir has re- <br />portedly been transferred to the control of a private dev- <br />eloper for recreational purposes and its operation could <br />have an effect.-OIl rho> -Y"mpa Ri.ter if ~-r~1 ".'1 . <br /> <br />An application for a finding of diligence for Juniper Res- <br />ervoir and Bear Reservoir. among others, was filed with the <br />Division 6 Water Court in August, 1977 by the Colorado River <br />Water Conservation District (Case No. W-144-76). The ap- <br />plication contained the following language with respect to <br />Juniper Reservoir, Bear Reservoir and Pleasant Valley Res- <br />ervoir: <br /> <br />"3. Specifically, in Water Division 6, extensive <br />negotiations have been underway with Colorado-Ute <br />Electric Association for the construction of Juniper <br />Reservoir as enlarged, Juniper Power Plant, Cross <br />Mountain Reservoir. Cross Mountain Penstock and <br />Power Plant. Bear Reservoir and Yamcolo Reservoir. <br />An application to change the Pleasant Valley Reser- <br />voir and Pleasant Valley Feeder Canal to alternate <br />places of storage is currently in process in this <br />Court." <br /> <br />--l <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The language of the application indicates that these pro- <br />jects ~re considered viable enough to maintain the decrees <br />in an active status.
