<br />003112 <br /> <br />2. Wastewater Grant Program. Redelegation of Phase II of the California EPA <br />construction grants program from the State to the Corps is scheduled for <br />November 1980. The Phase 11 work includes 47 projects for $360 million that <br />are currently under construction and 56 new projects for $202 million that are <br />scheduled to start construction in Fiscal Year 1981. The Corps plans to <br />contract with the State for assistance in carrying out part of the work. This <br />will allow retention of experienced State personnel with construction grants <br />expertise and will minimize the disruptive effort of the redelegation on <br />existing construction giants. <br /> <br />3. 1984 Olympics, Los Angeles, California. The Los Angeles District assisted <br />the City of Los Angeles in the preparation of the scopes of service for AlE <br />contracts to prepare a joint EIR/EIS for new and refurbishment projects, and a <br />master plan for the Sepulveda Basin as part of the initial work for getting <br />ready for the 1984 Olympics. The District will also assist the City in <br />reviewing these reports to assure conformance with Corps and Federal <br />criteria. These contracts are 80 percent complete. <br /> <br />4. "Year of the Coast". South Pacific Division "Year of the Coast" <br />activities.during this period included production of the first of a series of <br />fourteen regional touring brochures which will cover the entire California <br />coast.. Planning also was started for: (1) a fall open-house at the San <br />Francisco Bay-Delta Model, (2) exhibits and slide presentations at the State <br />Fair, Los Angeles County Fair, and a November National Coastal Conference in <br />Florida, and (3) a coastal Short Course for non-Federal planners to be given <br />in September 1980 in cooperation with the University of California. <br /> <br />C-43 <br /> <br />;; <br /> <br />.f. ;_" ," '-,: ,~;_, <br />
