<br />COLORAOO: Arkansas Cooperative River Basin Study <br /> <br />The Economic Base Study and the statewide crop acreage <br />yiald and production inventory were completed. Several <br />additional canal system linear programming runs were <br />made. A report writer utilizing information from the <br />canal system inventory and LP analyses was devised. <br />The reports from the report writer will display infor- <br />mation pertaining to acreage, cropping patterns, yields, <br />engineering costs, crop production costs and benefits <br />and hydrology. An input generator program to set up <br />the linear programming problems is being developed. <br /> <br />NEW MEXICO: Lower Rio Grande Study <br /> <br />A final Plan of Work was completed by participating <br />agencies, following redrafting, resched~ling and <br />revising the proposed work items during the period. <br />Budgeting of money and worker resources was revised <br />also. The collection and tabulatiJn of basic <br />socioeconomic data was nearly completed, for the <br />Work Iter,n that is a major responsibility of ESCS. <br /> <br />The final POW was submitted to the West Technical <br />Service Center, and later approved. <br /> <br />FOREST SERVICE <br /> <br />All of the Forest Service regions in the PSIAC area <br />are cOt'ltinuing their work on regional plans. The <br />regional plans are intended to disaggregate the <br />recently completed Resource Planning Act Assessment <br />and Program to individual States and National Forests <br />within. each of the Forest Service regions. Current <br />schedules call for completion of regional plans in <br />early 1981. <br /> <br />The Forest Service participated in completing the <br />following working papers for the Little Colorado <br />River Basin Study: Irrigation, Impoundment Sites, <br />and Timber. <br /> <br />Additionally, the Battle Flat derronstration area, <br />Prescott National Forest, is progressing on schedule. <br />Trails have been constructed for better access to <br />instrumentation. Sediment surveys have been completed <br />on water impoundments and weirs have been equipped with <br />sediment catchments. Full instrumentation will be <br />completed with the installation. of six rain gages and <br />a weather station.. <br /> <br />C-36 <br />
